![]() ![]() Theres far to many great features to mention here. I can make up a kit, programme in some beats and save the machine state (ie Kit sounds, patterns etc) and that then becomes a preset which you can flick through when making new tracks. Yet with Nerve Ive been doing just that because its so easy to do. Ive just never been in to it due to what I consider a convoluted process in many VSTs. Ive never been one to store my own presets since the dawn of VSTis. I know other drum machines can do this but none do it so elegantly as Nerve. You need this becasue you have to hear stuff in context. ![]() I love that I can set a folder for bass drum, snare etc and just flick through the sounds without having to open browsers, menus and so on. It has a simple but highly effective methods of changing kits and sounds. It attacks the actual waveform (changes the actual waveform) and within five seconds you can convert a big thundering kik in to a tiny click. I tell ya, it really sounds like he has used nerve? But of course you can sound like anything you want.Ĭhanging sounds is very easy in nerve. Im sure your familiar with Deadmau5 simple but infectious grooves. Yet with Nerve it seems almost effortless. Ive always found it extremely difficult to get drums to groove in any daw (but especially live) using anything from drum machines to samplers. ![]() If I programme the exact same beats side by side Nerve just grooves better, sounds less dead. Lets say I have the exact same drums in Ableton live set up on impulse. There is something really quite special about Nerve which is really kind of strange. It bypasses all that multi layering per cell stuff and just gets on with the job of helping you make seriously banging beats fast. This is not a drum machine for acoustic kits such as those offered by NI etc. However may I recommend what I consider to be the best drum machine plugin out there - Nerve Nerve | Xfer Records Going by what you say you want, the music you make then this is the machine for you. Sorry I dont know anything about geist but it sure looks like a capable plugin. ![]()
